What?

As a new player, farming gear should be a priority, with your focus being on getting legendary (Yellow +12) pieces of gear on all your frequently used champions.

Why?

You want to increase your BP (Battle Power) as this has a direct impact on the strength of enemies you can beat, especially in Tide. This will help you beat the Campaign and obtain all the rewards for doing so, get better Guild Boss chests and push further into other content. Legendary items cost very little to upgrade to max level (+12) of enhancement.

Where?

Your primary focus is to clear Gear Raid 1 Stage 10 (weapons & armour) [LEFT SIDE EQUIPMENT], and Gear Raid 2 & 3 stage 6 for bangles, amulets & rings [RIGHT SIDE EQUIPMENT]. Those stages are your gateway to the mid game experience.

How?

We will give you some tips on how to beat those stages early game. Let's get started!

Click on the GEAR RAID that is easiest for you at the moment. (Eventually you'll have to SLAY them all!)

GEAR RAID 1 STAGE 10 - WALKTHROUGH

Gear Raid 1 is all about AoE champions that can hit multiple targets with attacks. Your priority is on AoE Mages with some AoE Marksmen (if you struggling, you can put 2 Fighters behind the wall). You will also need one or two healers depending on which healers you have, and how close you are to the recommended BP. In the example below, we use 3 AoE damage mages, 2 healers, 1 AoE control mage, 1 buffer and 1 AoE fighter (it doesn't matter if you don't have identical champions, check out our tips at the end). Let's get started!

Place 2 AoE champions that can attack the area where the enemies will be; one at the top attacking down and one at the bottom attacking up.

At this stage of the game you should have Marri, an AoE mage that controls enemies by inflicting Slow on them. She is extremely useful for those early stages as her ultimate freezes the enemies, holding them in place and preventing them from attacking the wall.

Place Marri and another AoE damage champion on the platform in the middle.

Then you want to place your first healer so your champions survive the next few waves, an AoE fighter behind the wall, and an extra champion on the other platform. In the example, we use Lauriel as she'll help others deal more damage with their ultimate. You can use whatever hero you like.

Add another healer to ensure your team survive, if you are struggling to kill enemies and you don't need another healer you can replace with more damage.

GEAR RAID 1 STAGE 10 - TIPS

● When gearing your healers, be sure to check which stat their healing is based on, Attack or HP, and equip them appropriately.

● You can pause the game and check the Monster Manual to see what skills the enemies can use against you.

● You will want to use your ultimate abilities as frequently as possible when appropriate. Analyse the situation and work out the optimal time to use them - one of the key abilities in Watcher of Realms is learning the best use of your ultimates.

● Some of the champions shown on the screenshots are top tier for this activity, so make sure you check our GR1 ranking page here.

● Always put gear on your champions appropriate to their class and prioritise the stats they need (attack % on damage dealers etc.), if you find your champions are dying very quickly, farm the stage below and check the Dwarf Shop for better gear.

GEAR RAID 2 STAGE 6 - WALKTHROUGH

Gear Raid 2 is all about survivability.

You want to prioritise Defenders (tanks), Fighters & Healers (an AoE Mage is a big bonus here).

Golden guards (or "rolling stones" :P) are introduced from this stage and they will deal heavy damage when they collide with you!

For this reason, you can use a "decoy" which is placing a random fighter or defender in front of another champion.

Place your "decoy" and your fighter or defender behind him, the "decoy" will take the hit and probably die, but the champion behind should be able to survive.

You will need to ensure you have geared your champions appropriately, in order for your champion to be able to survive.

Let's get started!

Place your first healer as soon as you can to prevent the golem from killing your champions and wait until his Earthshake ability is over.

You don't want to place too many champions initially because most healers heal single targets and won't be able to heal everyone.

Then place your defender or fighter next to the first to protect your soul crystals, and your second healer. (If you lack a second healer, keep an eye on the Dwarf Shop, there's a green champion named Langlyn who heals 2 allies in range).

With this set up, your healers can heal each other and the tanks.

Place your strongest mage or marksman next to the second healer and you are setup. Any other champions you place may be outside healing range (depending on which healers you have) so they are just expendable sources of damage.

GEAR RAID 2 STAGE 6 - TIPS

● When gearing your healers, be sure to check which stat their healing is based on, Attack or HP, and equip them appropriately.

GEAR RAID 3 STAGE 6 - WALKTHROUGH

Gear Raid 3 is all about airborne enemies.

You need to kill the enemies before they reach the soul crystal, however as they are airborne there is no way to "tank" them, so champions without the ability to hit airborne targets are of limited use. You want to prioritize marksmen, although you can use mages if you are short on marksmen.

Unless you have a team full of marksmen, don't place your champions on the side platforms; keep them in the middle as this is where all enemies will end up.

At this stage of the game you should have Marri, an AoE mage that controls enemies by inflicting Slow on them. She is extremely useful for these early stages as her ultimate ability inflicts Freeze on all enemies in a large area, preventing them from moving or attacking.

Place two marksmen or mages at the front attacking upwards, and place Marri near the crystal.

This way she can Freeze incoming enemies moving toward the soul crystal.

Place your healer before Zilitu (the boss) appears.

If you can't kill the enemies on the right in time, place another marksman or mage behind the front line, then place your healer but beware as Zilitu will start attacking the most recently deployed champion. The same applies to the left side.

Zilitu has to be killed ASAP.

If you are lacking in champions who can attack airborne targets, you can place a fighter or defender to act as the target when enemies get closer to you. These are often easier for healers to keep alive and help your marksmen & mages survive by drawing the fire of opponents.

Finally place remaining champions on your "weakest" side to provide extra damage.

GEAR RAID 2 STAGE 6 - TIPS

● When gearing your healers, be sure to check which stat their healing is based on, Attack or HP, and equip them appropriately.

● You can pause the game and check the Monster Manual to see what skills the enemies can use against you.

● Use Marri's ultimate to Freeze all enemies near her if you find you are getting overwhelmed, it gives your damage dealers a bit of time to kill things off.
