What?

As a mid game player, farming gear should be a priority, with your focus being on getting mythic (Red +16) pieces of gear on all your frequently used champions.

Why?

You want to continue to increase your BP (Battle Power) as this has a direct impact on the strength of enemies you can beat, especially in Tide. This will help you progress through the Campaign on harder difficulties and obtain all the rewards for doing so, get even better Guild Boss chests and push further into other content. Mythic items can cost a lot to upgrade to max level (+16) of enhancement, DO NOT enhance bad pieces without a specific reason, such as Tales of the Smith Event. We have a guide to gearing here.

Where?

Your primary focus is to clear Gear Raid 1 Stage 13, and Gear Raid 2 & 3 stage 10. Those stages are your gateway to the end game experience.

How?

We will give you some tips on how to beat those stages mid game. Let's get started!

Click on the GEAR RAID that is easiest for you at the moment. (Eventually you'll have to SLAY them all!)

GEAR RAID 1 STAGE 13 - WALKTHROUGH

Your priority is on AoE Mages with some AoE Marksmen (if you struggling, you can put 2 Fighters behind the wall). You will also need one or two healers depending on which healers you have, and how close you are to the recommended BP. In the example below, we use 2 AoE damage mages, 2 healers, 1 AoE control mage, 2 AoE marksmen and 2 fighters (it doesn't matter if you don't have identical champions, check out our tips at the end).

Let's get started!

Place 2 AoE champions that can attack the area where the enemies will be; one at the top attacking down and one at the bottom attacking up.

Place another 2 AoE damage champions on the platform in the middle.

Then you want to place 2 fighters behind the first wall so they can attack. AoE fighters are highly recommended. In the screenshot below we show Salazar - who is not an AoE fighter but his ultimate allows him to hit multiple targets.

Then you want to place your healers and make sure your fighters are within healing range. They will probably still die pretty quickly when the first wall is destroyed, but the longer they last the better.

Once they die use your remaining champions to replace them.

As explained in our early game guide here, don't forget you can put tanks in front of the first wall if you struggling. Your goal is to SLAY about half of the enemies before the first wall goes down, as you've got 2 walls.

Remember to level up, awaken and promote your champions.

GEAR RAID 1 STAGE 13 - TIPS

● When gearing your healers, be sure to check which stat their healing is based on, Attack or HP, and equip them appropriately.

● You can pause the game and check the Monster Manual to see what skills the enemies can use against you.

● You will want to use your ultimate abilities as frequently as possible when appropriate. Analyse the situation and work out the optimal time to use them - one of the key abilities in Watcher of Realms is learning the best use of your ultimates.

● Some of the champions shown on the screenshots are top tier for this activity, so make sure you check our GR1 ranking page here.

● Always put gear on your champions appropriate to their class and prioritise the stats they need (attack % on damage dealers etc.), if you find your champions are dying very quickly, farm the stage below and check the Dwarf Shop for better gear. Remember to level up and promote your heroes.

GEAR RAID 2 STAGE 10 - WALKTHROUGH

Gear Raid 2 is all about survivability.

You want to prioritise Defenders (tanks), Fighters & Healers (an AoE Mage is a big bonus here).

You will need to ensure you have geared your champions appropriately, in order for your champion to be able to survive.

If not use the "decoy" method.

Place your first healer as soon as you can, followed by an AoE mage and a second healer on the left side. You don't want your healers struggling to keep your champions alive.

Take the time to learn the Golem's Earthshake, it hits 3 times. You need to be in sync with the Earthshake, and use your healers ultimates at the right time so your champions survive.

Place your next champions in this order:

Place your defender or fighter to protect the other soul crystal and put a third healer next to him followed by another AoE champion.

If one of the sides is struggling to kill the waves of enemies, you can add another fighter, mage or marksman to help the weak side.

GEAR RAID 2 STAGE 10 - TIPS

● When gearing your healers, be sure to check which stat their healing is based on, Attack or HP, and equip them appropriately.

● You can pause the game and check the Monster Manual to see what skills the enemies can use against you.

GEAR RAID 3 STAGE 10 - WALKTHROUGH

Gear Raid 3 is all about airborne enemies.

You need to kill the enemies before they reach the soul crystal, however as they are airborne there is no way to "tank" them, so champions without the ability to hit airborne targets are of limited use. You want to prioritize marksmen, although you can use mages if you are short on marksmen.

This time we'll place 4 marksmen at the top of each platform, 2 in the middle on 1 on each side.

Place your healers on both sides and make sure everyone can get healed. If you struggling with this set up use the early one and keep them in the middle.

Zilitu has to be killed ASAP. If you are lacking in champions who can attack airborne targets, you can place a fighter or defender to act as the target when enemies get closer to you. These are often easier for healers to keep alive and help your marksmen & mages survive by drawing the fire of opponents.

You should have Marri, an AoE mage that controls enemies by inflicting Slow on them. She continues to be extremely useful for these stages as her ultimate ability inflicts Freeze on all enemies in a large area, preventing them from moving or attacking.

Place Marri just in case the enemies get too close, and the remaining champion.

GEAR RAID 3 STAGE 10 - TIPS

● When gearing your healers, be sure to check which stat their healing is based on, Attack or HP, and equip them appropriately.

● You can pause the game and check the Monster Manual to see what skills the enemies can use against you.

● Use Marri's ultimate to Freeze all enemies near her if you find you are getting overwhelmed, it gives your damage dealers a bit of time to kill things off.

● You will want to use your ultimate abilities as frequently as possible when appropriate. Analyse the situation and work out the optimal time to use them - one of the key abilities in Watcher of Realms is learning the best use of your ultimates.
