Zelus has a basic attack that creates a Ground Effect Area that deals AoE magical damage to multiple enemies for 5 seconds, with airborne targets taking half damage, and this is unaffected by Attack Speed increases. His ultimate skill, Running Styx, generates a large Ground Effect Area dealing 100% (upgraded to 120%) AoE damage, then dealing 50% (upgraded to 60%) AoE damage every second for 10 seconds, with airborne targets taking half damage. His first passive ability, Nether Mark, increases the damage caused by a Ground Effect Area by 6% (upgraded to 10%) per second. His second passive ability, Soul Corruption, inflicts 10% (upgraded to 14%) Vulnerability to Magical Damage on all enemies in a Ground Effect Area.

Awaken 1: Increases the basic attack Ground Effect Area duration by 1 second.

Awaken 3: Increases the duration of Running Styx by 2 seconds.

Awaken 5: Increases AoE damage of Running Styx by 20%, and enlarges the Ground Effect Area created by basic attacks and increases its damage by 20%.

 

Ultimate: Running Styx generates a large Ground Effect Area dealing 100% (upgraded to 120%) AoE damage, then dealing 50% (upgraded to 60%) AoE damage every second for 10 seconds, with airborne targets taking half damage.

Summary: Zelus is a mage with a basic attack range who creates a Ground Effect Area and deals AoE damage to all enemies within it, however this is unaffected by Attack Speed increases. The immediate thing to note is his deployment cost, 29 is an extremely high amount for one unit and immediately restricts his viability in some game modes, and this is only slightly reduced at awakening IV, which reduces his cost by -3. If you do manage to deploy him, he does respectable damage, ideally you want his Ground Effect Area to be where your tank is so enemies take constant damage. His Nether Mark increases the damage of his Ground Effect Area abilities, while Soul Corruption inflicts Vulnerability to Magical Damage, further increasing damage dealt. He shines in Campaign, Trial, Tide and Gear Raid 1.

 

 Attack Speed has no effect and should be avoided.
